ATELIER F. ARCHITECTURE & INTERIEURS BUREAU

ATELIER F. architecture & intérieurs has established its studio in the heart of Rolle’s Grand-Rue.

Originally a raw, narrow and elongated space, the premises have been transformed into a warm and luminous workplace, where raw materials and refined finishes come together in a subtle balance of contrasts.

A key element of the project is a bespoke piece of furniture extending nearly ten metres along the length of the studio. Conceived as one continuous gesture, it combines several functions — meeting table, material library and storage. Crafted in walnut veneer and travertine, it is defined by carefully curved detailing that creates soft, harmonious lines.

Continuing from the joinery, a timber ceiling wraps the corridor and reinforces the sense of continuity throughout the space. The built-in unit also conceals an existing radiator and incorporates a natural airflow system to allow heat to circulate efficiently.

Echoing the existing limewashed walls, fluted plaster elements, shaped in situ according to a precise layout, introduce rhythm and emphasise the depth and perspective of the space. Left unfinished, the raw plaster reveals the material with delicacy and refinement.

Underfoot, a light polished concrete floor, matched to the tone of the walls, creates a unified backdrop throughout the studio. In contrast, the concrete ceiling slab and exposed ventilation elements have been retained, preserving traces of the building’s most recent major renovation.

At the centre of the space, a generous brushed stainless-steel pendant light introduces a new sense of scale. Discreet LED lighting integrated into the shelving completes the atmosphere, highlighting the materials and their textures.
