CABINET OPHTALMOLOGIQUE DU GRAND-PONT

Renovation of the Grand-Pont ophthalmology practice in Lausanne.

The ambition was to give the practice a new identity while revealing the character of the existing space.

Originally formed by two apartments combined into one large floorplate to accommodate the full ophthalmology team, the premises have a distinctive Y-shaped layout.

The heart of the project lies in the complete redesign of the patient reception area. Every element was conceived and custom-made to create an environment that is welcoming, warm, functional and timeless.

The bespoke furniture is defined by softly curved forms in lacquered panels finished in a pastel tone, while the reception desks are crafted in Corian with a smooth, tactile finish.

The waiting areas were opened up to improve patient circulation, while light oak screens subtly separate them from the entrance zone.

During the renovation, a number of original architectural details were brought back to light: the existing timber flooring was restored, delicate ceiling mouldings were preserved, and new moulded wall panelling was introduced along the corridors to reinforce the architectural character and historic fabric of the space.

Furniture, acoustic curtains, carefully selected lighting and artworks complete the interior.
