VILLA S

PULLY, Suisse · 2025

Set within a lush, landscaped environment, this contemporary house is defined by a rigorous architectural language based on horizontality, transparency and materiality.

The main volume is arranged over two levels in a deliberately restrained composition. Concrete slabs and horizontal bands draw long lines across the façade, structuring the elevation and anchoring the building within the site. On the upper floor, a sequence of large glazed openings creates an almost entirely transparent façade facing the landscape, extended by a glass balustrade that preserves uninterrupted views.

At garden level, the house establishes a more direct relationship with the outdoors. The living spaces open generously onto a covered terrace, conceived as a true intermediate room between interior and garden. Deep overhangs and concrete columns give the façade a measured rhythm while providing natural solar protection.

The material palette is intentionally limited to mineral concrete, dark-framed joinery, glass and vegetation. The contrast between solid surfaces and large areas of transparency gives the project a character that is both monolithic and light.

The architecture is therefore shaped by a constant dialogue with its surroundings: framed views, abundant natural light, spatial continuity and a gradual blurring of the boundaries between inside and out. The result is a calm and timeless home, where precise construction supports a way of living that is deeply connected to the landscape.
