CLINIQUE LA VALLEE - ETAGES CONSULTATIONS

CLINIQUE LA VALLEE - ETAGES CONSULTATIONS

Delémont, Suisse · 2025

The consultation spaces at Clinique La Vallée extend across three levels, each dedicated to different medical specialties.

The first floor is home to the Centre ophtalmologique du Jura. The second floor brings together a range of specialist consultations, including angiology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, ENT and gynaecology. The third floor is dedicated to dermatology.

Despite the diversity of programmes, each level is organised according to a common spatial principle. A central core accommodates patient reception areas, technical rooms and some of the examination rooms. Around the perimeter, directly adjoining the glazed façades, are the consultation rooms, waiting areas and administrative offices.

This organisation introduces regular moments of openness and natural light throughout the plan. Consultation rooms and waiting areas alternate along the façades, allowing daylight to penetrate deep into the building and reducing the sense of conventional corridor-based circulation often associated with healthcare environments.

The circulation spaces are themselves articulated through a rhythm of solid and open elements. Full-height timber-clad walls alternate with slatted screens that filter views and define spaces without enclosing them. This approach preserves a degree of privacy while maintaining a fluid and open perception of each floor.

The reception desks continue the architectural language established by the main reception on the ground floor. Designed with softly rounded forms, they combine Corian and light wood to create visual continuity between the different levels.

The palette of colours and materials acts as a unifying thread throughout the clinic: light wood, natural stone-effect vinyl in the circulation areas, and timber-effect flooring in the consultation rooms and offices. This controlled repetition creates a coherent and immediately recognisable identity.

Planting also plays an important role in creating a calming atmosphere. On each floor, indoor gardens punctuate the circulation spaces. Combined with luminous ceilings that recreate the qualities of natural daylight, they introduce an unexpected presence of greenery at the heart of the building and create genuine moments of pause.

As on the ground floor, particular attention is given to the lighting. No source is intentionally harsh or glaring. Instead, the light is indirect, soft and diffused, creating a reassuring and comfortable atmosphere for both patients and medical teams.
