CLINIQUE LA VALLEE - RECEPTION

CLINIQUE LA VALLEE - RECEPTION

Delémont, Suisse · 2025

Conceived as a true destination for health, well-being and conviviality, Clinique La Vallée unfolds across five levels, offering a contemporary vision of healthcare architecture. Here, the quality of the spaces is not merely decorative: it plays an integral role in the patient experience, while providing practitioners with a comfortable, functional and calming working environment.

Externally, the building expresses a distinctly contemporary architectural language, composed of cubic volumes with clean, controlled lines. The restrained geometry of the façades is enhanced by an intelligent electrochromic glazing system, capable of regulating daylight according to external conditions. This technology simultaneously optimises thermal and visual comfort while giving the building envelope a dynamic quality, in constant dialogue with light, climate and its surroundings.

Inside, the project deliberately contrasts with this geometric rigour. The spaces unfold through a language of curves and organic lines, creating an immediate sense of fluidity and softness. The interior architecture naturally guides movement, softens the institutional character of the medical programme and contributes to a more intuitive and human experience of care.

From the moment of arrival, the large reception desk sets the tone. Conceived as a centrepiece of the interior, its generously rounded form combines Corian with natural oak veneer. A fluted veneer finish adds rhythm and depth to its curved front, while a three-dimensional wallcovering animates the backdrop of the reception area. Above, a peripheral ceiling cove integrates indirect LED lighting, enveloping the entire welcome area in a soft, diffused glow.

Light is one of the project’s defining elements. Designed with particular attention to patient comfort, the lighting avoids harsh or dazzling sources. Instead, the atmosphere is shaped by soft, indirect and enveloping light, contributing fully to the sense of calm sought throughout the clinic.
